Brighton History

Radiant and dynamic Brighton was one of Europe's first extraordinary shoreline resorts.

Today, one of the tourist spots of Brighton's seafront is the worn out stays of the West Pier, worked in 1866 by famous dock engineer Eugenius Birch.

The wharf shut in 1975, and a tempest in 2002 caused a halfway breakdown. Next, the wharf's primary show corridor went to pieces, and in 2003 a flame brought about additional harm. Two additional flames pursued, and in 2004 the center of the wharf deteriorated. Another piece dropped off in 2014.
